Yes. Mike Royko should have been included. When Obama won the election, I imagined the wonderful column Royko would have written. Regarding Harold Washington, Chicago’s first African American mayor, he said "Eeek! The next mayor of Chicago is going to be a black man! Let's all quiver and quake." And then he ordered us to take a deep breath and exhale. "The city isn't going to slide into the river. The sun will come up today and tomorrow . . . Also, I wondered what Royko would have said about Murdoch’s FOX News. I’ll always miss Royko.
I have been searching for info on Jimmy Payne, much to my surprise I came across this impromptu pic that my husband took in the "70's. I have recently had it digitally improved, taking out and adding to the quality of the photo to enchance this dynamic dancer. Please credit the photographer John Covas. This is from my private collection of photos on Jimmy Payne and other great tap masters. I had the privilege of studying with Jimmy from childhood on, he was a beloved friend and mentor.
Where's Mike Royko??? Are you kidding me???
