As delivered pothead provisions go, sushi is a little tricky. You’re asked to manipulate chopsticks that are awkward even when you’re clearheaded. And then there’s maintaining that perfect soy sauce–wasabi ratio. But once everything’s in its right place and you’re feasting on the superior cuts of sashimi or one of the kitchen-sink maki (try the po’ boy), you’ll see it was worth the hassle. 2045 N Damen Ave (773-235-5775). 3TAC Quick Thai
In Thailand, marijuana has been used to sweeten soup broth, but this is Chicago, bub, so you won’t find any pot in your boat noodles. Still, there’s plenty to love: This amazingly flavorful soup, packed with beef, thin noodles and earthy mushrooms, is, like all the best dishes here (including the smoky pork–and–rice sausage), found on the translated Thai-language menu. 3930 N Sheridan Rd (773-327-5253). 4Smoke Daddy
A meat lover’s dream, Daddy’s “Rib Sampler” includes baby back ribs, spare ribs and rib tips—a plate tailor-made to quell those post-toke munchies. If the pink, smoky meat doesn’t fill your quota of Southern comforts, sides of addictive sweet-potato fries and bubbly mac and cheese should finish the job. 1804 W Division St (773-772-6656). 5Eppy’s Deli
So you pride yourself on your resourceful stoner sandwich–making abilities? We hate to break it to you, but Cap’n Crunch and Pixy Stix on Wonder Bread isn’t exactly ingenious. But deli owner “Larry the Jew” sure has the goods, like the gooey, towering half-pound Reuben on marbled rye and sides such as pungent potato salad. 224 E Ontario St (312-943-7797).
