Black Dynamite
BARREL OF LAUGHS White has quite a gun there.Dir. Scott Sanders. 2009. R. 90mins. Michael Jai White, Arsenio Hall, Tommy Davidson.It’s clear that everyone involved in this parody has watched a lot of blaxploitation movies. All the good and bad aspects of films like Dolemite, Shaft and Black Caesar have been lovingly re-created, from the awkwardly delivered dialogue to the grainy film stock. As neighborhood crusader, awesome sex machine and all-around man’s man Black Dynamite, White shows off his athletic prowess in the badly edited fight sequences, and everybody is convincing at being bad actors. Is that a good thing?

I saw Black Dynamite,during the Black Harvest Film Festival in August. I enjoyed it! Even since I saw the trailer last year on YouTube,I knew this was going to be a great film. I hope the film is a success,and people will support the film,the right way. (and stay away from the bootlegs)
