CRAFTMASTER Kathy Beymer started making handbags (carryhandbags.com) in 2002 and sold them at boutiques such as Habit, but she quickly realized her favorite part of the creative process was figuring out how to make her brainstorms become finished products. So, the lifelong crafter started merrimentdesign.com, a blog where she posts free how-to instructions of her favorite DIY projects—such as a Chicago passport cover (pictured) and an urban wreath made out of Polaroid pictures. “I love putting creative things out there for people to take and make their own,” Beymer says. The site—its motto is “craft and pass it on”—has been a hit with the online craft community, so Beymer also posts submissions from readers that include tips on everything from modern stuffed animals to grilling marinades.
Merrimentdesign.com is a great inspiration of ideas for all occassions.
I love Merrimentdesign.com! I've found lots of fun ideas for my parties and for making my own gifts!
