Found Plastic ceiling light cover, near Oakley and Rosemont Avenues, 10am on August 24.
The process The light cover was ragged on the edges but free of cracks in the middle, so I cut off each end using a table saw, making the cover measure 30 inches in length. On both curved edges, I drilled holes near the top, center and bottom. Through each set of holes, I threaded a piece of picture-hanging wire to span from side to side on the back of the cover. Then, I wove a strand of Christmas lights around the wires. Using the top wire as a hanger, I hung the sconce, attached an extension cord and plugged it in.
The materials Roll of picture-hanging wire ($3.50) at Lowe’s (locations around the city); strand of Christmas tree lights ($1) from a rummage sale. Total cost: $4.50.
