MIKE QUIGLEY
Cook County commissioner, 10th district
Tribune or Sun-Times?
Both. Always. I’m old-style; I don’t get them online.
Mustard or ketchup on a hot dog?
I’m prepared to go to court to disown my daughter because she uses ketchup—and with sort of a defiant look.
Lennon or McCartney?
Harrison. All Things Must Pass, his album after the Beatles broke up, showed that Lennon/McCartney were suppressing a lot of what he could do.
Van Roth or Van Hagar?
Again, I’m going to be really contrary and say Ian Hunter of Mott the Hoople. They were tied to Roxy Music, who I love.
Leno or Conan?
He wrote some of the best Simpsons episodes.
Political pet peeve?
Negative campaigning from afar disturbs me.
Greatest Chicago politician?
Leon Despres, the first independent alderman in the ’50s during Richard J. Daley’s term. He did the right thing and took his shots for it.
Yeah, but if they did the 25 things, how many of the candidates would still only give three answers?
Love this. Hell, you should ask the candidates to do the Facebook "25 Things" meme ... now *that* would be good readin'!
Finally, someone takes a bold stand against encased meats.
