Lollapalooza
Aug 1–3 | Grant Park
Radiohead makes its belated return to Grant Park to blow the minds of everyone who missed the band’s summer 2001 appearance. The rest of the lineup offers a typical mix of the fresh (Yeasayer, Black Kids) and familiar (Wilco, Gnarls Barkley, Raconteurs). Your feet, ears and skin will hate you, but what’s a little sacrifice in the name of rock & roll?
Actual cost $190–$205

Vans Warped Tour
Aug 2, noon | First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre
Rock critics and curmudgeons are the only ones still complaining about the corporate overkill of the annual Warped Tour. Fans, on the other hand, know better than to look such a reliable gift horse in the mouth. The lineup ranges from vets such as Against Me! to the novel BANG!, perhaps the world’s only punk street-percussion group.
Actual cost $27.25–$50

yea real bad metaphors.... i think you were going for Orange Lazarus not Orange Julius too....
Broken Social Scene is nothing like Cumbawumba. And Feist is nothing like Sheryl Crow. That's a terrible anology. What's it like being a shitty writer for a living. You guys suck.
