King Crimson
Aug 6–8, 7:30pm | Park West
Very few bands are a genre unto themselves. This venerable art-rock act wandered miles away from its conventional prog roots in sound but not in spirit. The group now features classic members Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto.
Actual cost $67.50

West Fest
Aug 9, 10 | Chicago Avenue between Damen Avenue and Wood Street
At press time, this looks like the weakest of the neighborhood festivals, offering easy-to-catch (though strong) local acts Catfish Haven and the Redwalls. Organizers promise a surprise guest from Lollapalooza. It’s probably not Radiohead.
Actual cost $5 donation
