The Priest’s latest single, “Nosferatu”—a tornado of opera arias, double-bass machine-gunning, banshee wailing and six centipede–tapped solos—cramped our middle and ring fingers from continuous devil horning. It’s so over the top it needs oxygen tanks.

Straddling the middle of the road, dancing in the headlights with their pallid Van Morrison impression, are the Counting Crows. Meanwhile, the cheekbones and abs on Maroon 5’s Adam Levine distract the hordes from realizing the dude’s falsetto sounds like a castrated Canada goose. In short, this pair works overtime to stave off the beckoning call of the state-fair circuit.

Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago will present its 2008 Summer Concert and Gala entitled "Our Culture, Our Voice", July 12, 2008 7pm at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.
