In the seven years since its surprise reunion, this veteran Senegalese powerhouse has burnished what was already a stellar reputation with an equally impressive rep in concert. African roots inspire a lot of the rhythmic foundations, but Baobab’s unique approach—fostered by its coastal West African location—calls upon the entire African diaspora, including Isley Brothers soul, dark Cuban jazz and Congolese rumba.

Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago will present its 2008 Summer Concert and Gala entitled "Our Culture, Our Voice", July 12, 2008 7pm at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.
