TESTING THE WATERS New York chef Marcus Samuelsson has earned countless raves for his Swedish food at Aquavit, his Japanese food at Riingo and, most recently, his African fare at Merkato 55. But for his first foray into Chicago, Samuelsson is tackling something he’s never done before: American food. At C-House, in the Affinia Hotel, he’ll put his twist on the American seafood restaurant with entrées like baby sweet shrimp ravioli, ginger-scented crispy lobster tail and grilled langoustine in a coconut-saffron broth. That is, he will when C-House opens for lunch and dinner in June. In the meantime, breakfast dishes like salmon pastrami bagel and lobster Benedict provide a taste of what’s to come. 166 E Superior St at St Clair St (312-523-0923).
I've dined at C-House multiple times now and the food and atmosphere are amazing. They have worked out all of the kinks that new restaurants go through and this will surely be the next hottest restaurant in Chicago. Fresh seafood was delcious and the manager couldn't have been more accomodating and gracious. Wine list is extensive and desserts were a treat. This place is well worth its hype.
Dined here last sat night with high expectations and was highly disappointed. The place was a disaster with staff and management clueless as regards customer service. Don't believe the hype.
sounds yummy
I heard his New York African restaurant is about to close already.
