SEEKING MEN
Summer musts Drinks at ROOF at theWit, Chicago Dancing Festival, the Gene Siskel Film Center
Ideal summer date agenda Date part one, day date: I’m an early riser, so after taking a long run, we could meet at Green City Market and pick up some crusty bread, fresh fruit and goat cheese for a picnic lunch in Lincoln Park. If there isn’t anything good playing at the Century movie theater on Clark, we can mosey down to Wicker Park, walk up and down Milwaukee Avenue, check out new records at Reckless, and dig through the stacks at Myopic books. Date part two, night date: Let’s go to the best hole-in-the-wall dinner destination, Sushi X, for my favorite maki rolls. A date isn’t complete without live music or dancing, I’d suggest heading over to the Hideout or a local street fest. Dessert is a must, and late night is even better. We can end the night sharing a ginormous brownie at Pick Me Up Café.
If you’re want to date me, you should know PB&J lovers beware: I’m allergic to peanuts and almonds.
True or false: I’m comfortable wearing a bathing suit in public. True—I’m a dancer; leotards are practically bathing suits, right?
Guiltiest pleasure Subscribing and saving mountains of magazines—sorry, trees!
Farthest I’d travel for a piece of: Pie I’d travel just about anywhere, but with Hoosier Mama Pie’s strawberry rhubarb so close, who needs to go far? Pizza Either First & Last Tavern in Hartford, Conn., or Pepe’s in New Haven. Not knockin’ Chicago but Connecticut is my home away from home. Ass Long distance is overrated but I’d be willing to go back to London in a second if you have an accent—or a country house.
Addictions Updating my Blogroll, pita and hummus, to-do lists, trivia, flea-market shopping, coffee-table books, old movies, Trader Joe’s, pop culture, exploring new cities, and Law and Order reruns.
Pick one: Ravinia or Lollapalooza I have to pick Lolla. Fifth time is the charm this year—come say hello as I bow down to “King” Diplo and “Queen” Lykke Li.
Porta-potties or bushes Neither, I’d hold it.
Best restaurant patio Firehouse Restaurant. It somehow manages to feel secluded even though you are steps away from Michigan Avenue and Grant Park.
Most overrated beer garden None of them? Who can turn down a cool drink outside?
