Donald Trump’s hotels in Atlantic City may be decked out in over-the-top gold glitz, but the new Chicago outpost is thankfully on the classy side. The condo-hotel’s lobby stays lowkey, without many guests milling about. And who can blame them for wanting to stay in their rooms? The spacious suites (the smallest room is a respectable 600 square feet) feature kitchen space (with Sub-Zero fridges, Miele stove tops and espresso machines), comfy beds with 500-thread-count sheets and bathrooms featuring flat-screen TVs in the mirrors. And then there’s the view. Thanks to the curved building’s floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Chicago River, the lake, Tribune Tower and the El tracks on Wabash Avenue (to name a few sights!), there’s simply not a bad view in the joint. If you’re staying on a Wednesday or Saturday night this summer, book a room that faces south or east and enjoy Navy Pier’s fireworks display from the privacy of your own digs.

Dining: The views from the hotel’s fancy restaurant, Sixteen (located on the 16th floor, duh), are just as spectacular. Reservations might be hard to come by, but hotel guests can easily get the hookup.

Bar scene: Rebar, on the eighth floor, offers amazing views (seeing a pattern here?) and punch bowls ($150–$225), a 1970s take on bottle service.Fitness/spa: Located on the 14th floor, the workout room features top-of-the-line equipment, weights, a Pilates/yoga room and a pool. The spa is full-service, and the hotel plans to open additional spa-themed suites on the floor for guests looking for more of a Canyon Ranch–type of getaway.

Room service: Available 24 hours a day, the overpriced menu features the turkey burger Oprah recently raved about for $26. Nine to ten-course in-suite meals are also available for $1,000.

Best for: A celebration (anniversary, engagement) worth a splurge
