What you do in the bedroom (or shower or backseat of the car or…) can give you just as much of a workout as sweating it out at the gym. We checked in with Mark Beier, personal training manager at Crunch (939 W North Ave, 312-337-1244) and his team of trainers to find out what muscles get toned while you’re getting it on.
Doggy style
The “doggy” on all fours during this back-door move can engage triceps by holding themself in the position. The top should focus on engaging his glutes as he thrusts forward.
Reverse cowgirl
Both partners recruit the glutes, hamstrings and calf muscles during this position to tone the lower body. Giddy-up!
Standing copulation/rotation
The move might get guys only to second base, but it also works the biceps, core, quads, glutes and hip flexors.
Human wheelbarrow
The person on top will strengthen the biceps, glutes, lower back, abs and quads.
69
Whoever is on top is essentially in plank position, which means he or she will engage core, pecs, triceps, shoulders and glutes.
