What brings you to town?
I graduated from Northwood University in Michigan, and I’m looking at fashion-design schools here.
What have you seen since you’ve been in Chicago?
Michigan Avenue.
So you went shopping?
No, I just walked around. It’s too expensive. The sales taxes here are crazy. I’m a bargain shopper. I love thrift stores. Then I did the tour-bus thing, the two-hour–long tour. That was depressing because our tour guide was a monotone.
Yikes! Did you do anything else?
I went to Chinatown and took pictures, and ate at a local restaurant. It wasn’t bad, but not as good as home cooking.
What’s the worst tourist trap you’ve been stuck in?
I think it would be that Children’s Museum at Navy Pier. The pier’s just all McDonald’s and boring shops. Everyone goes there to get Cinnabon; it’s crazy.
