Description
Under Alvin Ailey alum Benoit-Swan Pouffer's directorship, this New York company has charged itself with introducing American audiences to the bleeding edge of concert dance. Canadian Crystal Pite emerged out of William Forsythe's storied movement lab, Ballett Frankfurt, with Short Works: 24, two dozen minute-long dances; she returns to the serial well for Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue. Holland's Didy Veldman—as unknown here as she is popular in Europe—sets frame of view to a jukebox score, while Jo Strømgren weaves volatility into Bach for Sunday, Again.When
