Description
Defying gravity—however figuratively—leads to lighthearted artistic innovations. Amy Cutler's amazing lithograph and painting flout the laws of physics with a nod to feminist self-sufficiency and Persian miniatures, professional wrestlers float through a Travis LeRoy Southworth video with unexpected grace, and clever photos by Adam Ekberg and Lilly McElroy capture real-life examples of (temporary) weightlessness. We wish more artists had tried to subvert gravity through physical materials, but this show still makes a good antidote to heavy times. Through Sat 11.—LWWhen
