    Description
The Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River has flooded more than 1.3 million people out of their homes, but it will reportedly offer about 100 times as many people a greener source of energy than China's ubiquitous dirty coal. This timely, fascinating exhibition—which was curated by the University of Chicago's rock-star art historian Wu Hung—offers four artists' perspectives on the controversial project. We particularly enjoyed Zhuang Hui's conceptual photographs and Chen Qiulin's haunting videos, while works by Yun-Fei Ji and Liu Xiaodong—who specialize in the traditional genres of ink painting and realist oil painting—give viewers unique insight into the nation currently ruling the art market.
