“Bertha Honoré Palmer.”
Description
This early-20th-century Chicago socialite would've made today's business-minded celebutantes look like cream puffs. Palmer built the Art Institute's core Impressionist collection, successfully advocated for women's and children's needs, and almost single-handedly created the town of Sarasota, Florida. This exhibit reveals Palmer's life through 14 of her specially made designer garments.
