Description
If you think the Mag Mile jewelry stores pack in bling, you ain't seen nothing. Hundreds of objects include the 128.54 carat Tiffany Diamond, the 407.48 carat Incomparable diamond and exquisite designs by Frank Gehry, Boucheron, Cartier and other fine jewelry-makers. Eye-candy aside, the exhibit shines with educational material: geological lessons, an explanation of “blood diamonds,” and stories on the stone's myriad uses beyond human beautification. (Time-ticketed admission: $23, seniors and students $20, kids ages 3–11 $13; discounts for Chicago residents.)
