Fake
Description
Toggling Arcadia-style between 1914 and 1953, Eric Simonson's play about the Piltdown man hoax tries to wire together two uncomfortably matched pieces. The chronologically earlier scenes, an investigation into Piltdown by fictional journalist Rebecca Eastman (Kate Arrington) at the behest of Arthur Conan Doyle (Francis Guinan), has the giddy charm of an Agatha Christie drawing-room mystery. But Fake flags in its modern half, in which three scientists form an uninspired love triangle.—John Beer

We were visiting Chicago on preview weekend and stumbled into this wonderful production of a new play. This play has everything ... a great story based on a fascinating historical event, excellent acting and set, and the excitement of seeing a new play that will almost certainly go on tour around the country and probably to Broadway, (if that's really such a big deal anymore). Chicago has a wonderful cultural scene and we will have to come back soon!
