Boy

Description
It was when one of the characters in Julia Jordan's Boy observed that good stories write themselves that we realized that this particular story, while a potentially good one, definitely was not writing itself. The play feels meticulously, if not painfully, constructed rather than well made. The boy of Boy, an enigmatic storyteller and pothead kid who weaves himself into a Twin Cities family, pushes buttons so hard that we wished he, like the play, would take a breath and allow the story to simply write itself.—Megan Powell
