Underrated at its early-'90s apex, slightly missed during its absence and more or less ignored when it came back in '05, Digable Planets' jazz/hip-hop fusion made the best out of a precarious mix that less talented artists often transformed into toothless novelty kitsch. Alas, the current incarnation of the group is now missing MC Ladybug, but even at less than peak power Digable Planets stands as a true alternative to hip-hop's currently more aggressive, abrasive trends.When
