Description
This excellent L.A. band features a bunch of indie vets playing in the style of '60s Cambodian rock music. The group's coup was finding singer Chhom Nimol, a native of Phnom Penh who, before moving to California, performed for the king and queen of Cambodia. On the band's three albums (most recently Venus on Earth), she sings in an intense quaver that evokes vocalists like legendary Cambodian singer Ros Serey Sothea; the culture clash within Dengue Fever becomes even more pronounced in concert.When
