Description
Irma Vep is perhaps the archetypal camp play. Charles Ludlam's 1984 work, a lovingly ridiculous spoof of horror movies and gothic novels, relies on a quick-change structure that enables two actors to play the myriad denizens of Mandacrest, an English manor bedeviled by all manner of monsters. The dynamic Laurel-and-Hardy pair of Erik Hellman and Chris Sullivan meet the script's challenges brilliantly.—JBWhen
