Amy Carr
EXECUTIVE EDITOR
Carr joined Time Out Chicago in November of 2004 as part of the team that launched the magazine. As managing editor, she helps oversee the entire editorial operation, ensures the magazine gets out on time and on budget, and serves as a liaison among editorial and other departments and the public. It's a job that gives her an opportunity to thrive on the deadline pressure she learned to love during her 15 years as a daily newspaper reporter and editor. Prior to coming to TOC, she served as the Daily Herald's assistant features editor, producing two weekly features sections, a special section for the one-year anniversary of September 11 and overseeing an award-winning project on issues affecting immigrants in the suburbs. Carr is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, a member of the American Society of Magazine Editors and the mother of two very energetic boys.
