John Dugan is the Web Editor at Time Out Chicago-after launching the Time Out Chicago Clubs and Nightlife section in 2005 and running it for four years, he made the switch to master of TOC's online editorial in 2009. He's been a frequent contributor to the Features, Music and other sections of Time Out. He got his start covering local music for the Washington City Paper in the '90s working with New York Times media critic David Carr, went on to edit for Citysearch.com in Chicago and freelance for Stop Smiling magazine, Livedaily.com, Chicago Tribune, Rollingstone.com, Spin.com, the Chicago Reader and Billboard.com. John has covered several Lollapalooza and Pitchfork festivals and hosted events for the GOAT series. He plays drums in the Chicago Stone Lightning Band and lives in Bucktown.
