Ben Kenigsberg
FILM WRITER
Kenigsberg has a B.A. in film studies and English, and also received an education in what Andrew Sarris dubbed the "shadow university," mortgaging much of his free time to New York's life-devouring repertory scene. Beginning in high school, he enjoyed a long stint as the film critic at Long Island's Independent News Co., and in college he became a regular at the Columbia Daily Spectator. A critic and editorial mainstay at the Village Voice film section from 2002 to 2006, he has also written for Time Out New York, The New York Sun and LA Weekly.
Ask me about: Obscure Hitchcock, Hou Hsiao-hsien, underrated Fassbinder and great movies that run longer than five hours.
