Messinger is the editor of THISisGRAND.org, a website featuring stories about the CTA that has been featured on NPR and in the Chicago Sun-Times. He recently completed a seven-city tour, reading material from the site. His fiction has appeared in McSweeney's and several local and national literary magazines. He also is the host and creator of The Dollar Store Show, a monthly literary and comedy performance featuring some of Chicago's top young talents. At Time Out Chicago, he prides himself on bringing attention to Chicago writers and focusing on the literary legacy of the city. He also enjoys the loads of free books.
