Madeline Nusser
AROUND TOWN EDITOR
COVERS: Museums, street festivals, walking tours, zoos, gardens, urban affairs, cruises, classes, workshops, volunteering, CTA service interruptions.
Nusser serves as the Around Town editor, having moved up through the ranks from a writer for the Around Town and Art & Design sections. She still focuses on the young and hip, or anything with a good preview party, but has added serious museum exhibitions to balance out her repertoire. In 2006 she started the "Singles scoop" column and became adept at the art of dating, surprising even herself. She gained her expertise in art history at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received a degree in visual and critical studies. Before turning her attention to writing, she curated several exhibitions and codirected 1R gallery. She has also contributed to Contemporary, STEP Inside Design and TenbyTen, among others.
