Hank Sartin
FILM EDITOR
Sartin holds a Ph.D. in cinema studies from the University of Chicago, but vehemently denies that this makes him an incomprehensible, theory-spouting academic. As evidence, he points to his dissertation on Warner Bros. cartoons, with a whole chapter on Bugs Bunny. He is a regular contributor to WGN-AM 720, where he talks about film in the wee hours with overnight hosts Steve King and Johnnie Putman. He writes about everything from kids' movies to Wong Kar Wai, and lives by the code of the intellectual dilettante, trying to know a little bit about everything from particle physics to trashy detective fiction.
Ask me about: Hollywood in the '30s and '40s, animation (shorts and features), gay and
lesbian cinema, Stanley Kubrick, Billy Wilder, film musicals and all those difficult foreign films with subtitles.
