AROUND TOWN WRITER
COVERS: Museums, street festivals, walking tours, zoos, gardens, urban affairs, cruises, classes, workshops, volunteering, CTA service interruptions
Sheehan has covered events, tours and museums for Time Out Chicago since its launch. She joined the magazine after a three-year stint at the Illinois State Travel Guide and Illinois Now magazine, where she was managing editor for both publications. While writing and editing for the state travel titles, she became closely acquainted with a few unlikely corners of the Land of Lincoln and worked arduously to ensure that don't-miss events such as the Henry County Hog Fest and the Huntley TurkeyTesticle Festival received the attention they so justly deserve. She has contributed to Chicago magazine, Today's Chicago Woman and FOUND magazine, among others. She is a graduate of both the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Columbia College.
Ask me about: Neighborhood museums, festivals, German Chicago, overlooked Chicago history, tours, Midwest road trips and Chicago vernacular.
