Description
Don't look for any signs marking this Bronzeville lounge and restaurant. Just follow the train of cars in line for valet. This upscale eatery is hidden on the second floor of a nondescript commercial complex, but the eclectic menu (and funky vibe to match) makes this a spot worth seeking out. This is soul food transcended. Start with the crab cakes, and then go for the chipotle ribs or steak. You'd be hard-pressed to find anything elsewhere like chef David Blackmon's signature bayou catfish, a tasty dish of two crispy filets stuffed with Cajun spiced crabmeat on a bed of grilled vegetables. Reservations are key, especially if you hope to catch the live jazz on Thursdays.
