Description
The cocktails veer toward the fruity side at this Bucktown favorite (call us purists, but we prefer our mojitos sin coconut), but the Cuban food is right on target. Fried pork chops (cerdo frito), yellow rice and pigeon peas; spicy "volcano shrimp"; caramelized plantains and Cuban flan feel right at home in the lively dining room. The Laguardia family hospitality (known for plying takeout customers with while-you-wait tropical shots) and live salsa bands on Tuesday and Wednesday nights make up for the sometimes slow-paced service.
