Honey 1 BBQ
Prices
Average main course: $9.
Description
The father and son behind this rib house know a thing or two about barbecue, hailing from a part of Arkansas where smokers are more common than microwaves. Their style of 'cue employs real wood (rather than gas) to impart smoky flavor on slow-cooked meats. Bring a hungry crew, stake out a table in the simple but spick-and-span dining area and order up a couple of slabs of meaty, tender spareribs, a whole mess of rib tips and a plate of hot links. If you're still hungry after the main event, juicy smoked chicken and crispy catfish should round things out.
Hours
Lunch, dinner (closed Mon).
Can anyone confirm whether this place is still open? Some friends tried to go a few weeks ago and it looked closed.
The kid behind the counter didn't know what a combo was (said it was ribs and tips, it's not, it's tips and sausage over fries). The sauce was good, but the tips were mostly gristle, the sausage was dry, and the overall experience was definitely trailer park chic. And the large combo and small combo were exactly the same price. Overall and large combo and large Pepsi came to almost $17. Not a great bargain. The glowing reviews for this place make no sense to me.
