Description
There's a fine line between kitsch and authenticity, and this homely chicken shack sits right in the middle. Because despite the crowds of gay Moby-lookalikes, Starter-jacket-clad teenagers and yuppie moms sneaking in cigarettes after devouring whole birds, this place still looks and feels the way we imagine a rural Kentucky chicken shack does. And that's a good thing. It means juicy rotisserie chicken's flanked by tortillas, salsa, sides like sweet corn pudding (skip the disappointing mac-and-cheese) and finales like apple pie. Of course, Chicago ain't Kentucky, so specials like fried sage leaves and lobster-mushroom risotto satisfy cravings for big-city cooking.
