Great falafel is hard to come by in this town, so it's surprising to find it in a strip mall in Hyde Park. Cedars' falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, lentil soup—pretty much everything that goes with its delicious, warm pita bread—have us hooked. And ever since its recent remodel—which reworked not only the now-slick dining room but the menu as well—we're equally enticed by the entrées. Sumptuous braised short ribs get a sweet pomegranate-glaze, and shekriya is comprised of tender lamb in a tangy yogurt sauce. Service is still unpredictable here, and that can cause some slow meals; the bright side of that is that the new digs are a pleasure to linger in.
