Let’s go over this one more time, because it’s still a little confusing: The Hearty Boys used to own this restaurant, but no more—now they’re teaching cooking classes in a studiolike complex around the corner. Instead, their longtime chef Joncarl Lachman has taken over, and he’s still putting out great, seasonal American food. For fall, he’s stocking his menu with full-flavored comfort foods, like a brie-and-lamb burger on a pretzel bun and a braised rabbit couscous with porcini mushrooms. He’s cut the cupcake flight out for now, but in its place is a Gouda tasting to start the meal and a tasting of Terry’s Toffee to end it.
