Grand Katachi

The owners of Wrigleyville's Katachi have opened this second location that's a bit bigger than the teeny original but serves the same sushi staples. Service is a tad spotty and the sushi isn't going to knock anyone's socks off, but in a neighborhood with sparse options for Japanese, this place will suit fresh-fish lovers just fine. Besides nice-sized slabs of nigiri, there's a good assortment of artfully prepared signature rolls, including Ocean Drive maki (spicy yellowtail, jalapeño, cilantro, cucumber and mango topped with tuna) and Red Line maki (spicy shrimp topped with snapper). There's a good selection of vegetarian maki made with creative additions like spinach and sweet potato, plus a small menu of rice and noodle dishes.
