Chef Troy Graves dresses up comfort classics at this upscale Lincoln Square spot that sports three simple white-on-white dining rooms. Graves incorporates the season's greatest hits via strawberries and braised favas with skate wing, crispy artichokes alongside grilled rainbow trout, risotto studded with morels and English peas, and a grilled asparagus salad topped with poached egg and ham vinaigrette. Opt for a table toward the back for more intimacy—this is a date place, after all—or keep going to the charming back patio.

This was a delicious, fun, funky yet classic dining experience. The service was warm and professional, and yes, the mussels were terrific. My date loved the braised shortribs, and I thought the skatewing was superb which is all too rare, with skatewing). Really, really delicious wine selections. More importantly, we had a wonderful time. Tried to back this weekend but they were booked, so we'll opt for a weeknight this time.
