Description
From the looks of it—booths, a counter/bar, coffee cups upturned on saucers—this bright, homey spot could pass for an all-American diner. That is, if the Polish words on the menu and coming from the TVs don't tip you off otherwise. If not dining in, visit the deli next door and stock up on the full-flavored, crackly skinned housemade sausage. Throw in some herring (served with crisp apples in cream) and pillowy potato pierogi. Most of this stuff can be found on the "Polish plate" served in the dining room, piled together with mashed potatoes and drowned in a tomatoey sour cream sauce that's the best part of the dish.
