We won't blame you if you arrive at this outdoor café and doubt its ability to put out quality French entrées. The kitchen is in a shack, after all, and the whole operation looks perilously makeshift. But if you avoid the hot dishes (a disappointing—rubbery, even—slice of quiche almost confirmed those initial doubts) and focus on chef Didier Durand's renowned pâtés instead, a shift can occur. With a view of the river and skyline, a glass of rosé in hand and a table crowded with jars of duck rillettes and baskets of bread, you'll go from dubious to devoted.
