Soup specials like a velvety Moroccan-spiced lentil are among a few reminders of this Loop lunch spot's former life as Spa Cafe. The original owner is still on board, but the new concept comes courtesy of Salad Spinners' Rich Levy, whose idea to cut Spa's food costs is to streamline the menu, ditch the organic/health angle and go retro comfort. Most of the nine sandwiches are tasty (brisket and whitefish are smoked in-house, and delicious because of it), but with minimal veggie toppings, many wind up as little more than meat and bread. Banana-bread pudding is a memorable closer, but judging by the sparse crowds, nine-to-fivers aren't looking to follow lunch with a nap.
