For those of you that waited in ridiculously long lines last February thinking it was your last chance to get this German institution's famous corned beef sandwiches, you've been had. After about a week of darkness, the 100-year-old restaurant reopened under the name 17 West, but not a thing about the place has changed. Well, technically the legendary space is now owned by the Berghoff's daughter, who's added a few modern dishes such as stuffed portabella and herb-crusted tilapia, but the carving station still serves up sandwiches, the bar still pours Berghoff beer and root beer, and the kitchen still slings weiner schnitzel, sauerbraten and the like.
