Description
Pan flute versions of classic pop songs repeat (and repeat) on the speakers at this cheerful Peruvian spot, adding a little life to an otherwise quiet strip of Elston. The Peruvian specialties on offer include ocopa, potato slices topped with a creamy mint-and-walnut sauce; heaping portions of ceviche overflowing with tart, tender slices of tilapia and octopus; lomo saltado, heavily spiced strips of beef topped with a pile of fries to soak up the juices; and a rich slice of caramel cake good enough to make even the fifth play of "Dust in the Wind" (yes, a pan flute version) tolerable.

if you are a Peruvian you will always try to find a good Peruvian Restaurant around your town. Peruvian Food has flavors and aromas that maintain us in contact with our Peruvian roots, with our happier memories. Ay Ay Picante: Peruvian Cuisine has the best Peruvian food in Chicago, i had try many dishes here in the past month, like the beef skewers, lomo saltado, ceviche, thier t-bone dish called vaquero.... huge meat topped with mushrooms (my husband was very happy), and for dessert??? pionono
Ok, my husband and i have passed this place many times, so we decided to give it a try (base on so many wonderful reviews). Calamaris ... yes they are good crispy and tender Parihuela ..... soup, fantastic flavor, it comes with seafood Avocado stuffed with shrimp .... love the presentation, great idea, avocado stuffed with vegetables, shrimp, on a bed of lettuce. This dish was created base on a clients request. :) Ceviche .... i had the ceviche mixto, a combo of seafood salad marinated in lime juices, it was a bit spicy.... simply the best flavor!!! i didnt share it.
