Description
The only way this long-loved bistro could get any more French is if Gérard Depardieu were tap dancing in the dining room. Until that day, Francophiles will have to make do with a menu of standards like French onion soup brimming with soft, sweet onions; smoked salmon flanked by classic condiments; and tasty coq au vin, a straight-from-the-oven crock of chicken roasted with bacon, onions and copious amounts of red wine. Lest anybody think the French too serious, chef-owner Joseph Doppes decks out his dining room with photos of his young daughter, Margot, posing as a painter, dancer, and, of course, a chef.
