Umaiya Café
Prices
Average nigiri: $2.50.
Description
If you want a reliable, inexpensive neighborhood option for pan-Asian fare, this no-frills spot doesn't disappoint. Standard Thai noodle and rice dishes like pad woonsen and garlic chicken are fine, but you'll do better choosing from the sushi side of the menu. That's where creative maki options stand out; try the winter (white tuna, salmon, scallions, radish and black tobiko with wasabi mayo) and the Thailand (crispy shrimp, masago, cucumber and coconut). More traditional maki, hand rolls and nigiri can be had at easy-on-your-wallet prices.
