    Description
They call them las señoras cocineras—"the cooking ladies"—and every morning they’re the first people here. They’re the older, Mexican women who use their own recipes to make the rich, dark mole poblano for the wood-roasted chicken and the handmade tortillas that wrap up light, crispy skate wing. An ex-server named Max supplied many of the colorful paintings on the wall, and the rotating cast of bartenders makes great margaritas (go for the "smoky floater" of mezcal). And while the cooking ladies could probably make a killer guacamole, they definitely don’t create it tableside; that gimmicky tradition is left to the servers.
