Butterfly Sushi & Thai Cuisine

An offshoot of the popular Butterfly on Grand, this Thai/Japanese hybrid (think curries, noodles and sushi) recently moved into Bialy's diner, redecorating in colors worthy of a monarch. The orange lights render much on the plate an unfortunate shade of gray—but if you can get past that, the food is, for the most part, a reliable bet. Stick to the basics—fresh yellowtail rolls, a hearty pad thai (for a twist, order it with wide rice noodles), steaming udon and tom yum soups—and you'll go home happy.
